Grammatical Groups of Noun Makers

Rule #28

Some noun makers are added to verb stems that can take a one-person ending (but not to verb stems that must take a two-person ending).

Example:

+ti1
=> iga-jiinu-liri-jiaittu-i-jiatji-liu-ri-jiilinnia-tit-si-ji

Some noun makers are added to verb stems that can take a two-person ending (but not to verb stems that must take a one-person ending).

Example: +taq2
=> iga-jaqinu-liri-jaqaittu-taqatji-liur-taqilinnia-ti-taq

Some noun makers appear to have a more unstable behavior.

Examples:

/(g)uti+niq/giaq
=> maqai-gutitutsia-rutiatji-liu-rutiilinnia-tit-si-guti
=> maqain-niqtutsia-niqatji-liur-niqilinnia-tit-si-niq
=> maqai-giaqtutsia-riaqatji-liu-riaqilinnia-tit-si-giaq
