Every year Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) organizes an orientation event for new teachers to feel well integrated and have the knowledge they need to start their jobs confidently. The orientation welcomes new teachers by providing them knowledge, skills, and perspectives that will ensure a strong foundation for their new jobs teaching at schools in Nunavik.
The onboarding process is not limited to the New Teacher Orientation. Each school administrative team will continue to support new teachers through a variety of approaches, such as through mentoring and local activities. Education and Complimentary service departments also provide teachers with support personnel, matching teachers with education consultants for each discipline. The Education Consultants can be reached anytime throughout the year by phone, email, or school visits for pedagogical support.
