The JUMP Math teaching approach uses a model of teach, practice, assess.

In the JUMP Math model of teach, practice, assess there are short teaching explanations followed by student practice and on-going assessment by the classroom teacher during the lesson. Assessment takes place throughout the lesson so that teachers can check for student understanding before moving on to the next step.
